Vocabulary


In this section of vocabulary, we are going to review a fact about vocabulary.

In English, words can have multiple meanings according to the context in which we use them. There are different classifications as we are going to see in the diagram below.



As you can see all words in English receive a different classification according to their pronounciation and meaning. 

In our case, the topic of vacabulary relies more in the idea of homonyms, but with a slight difference, this is because the words that we use are going to have a close meaning no matter the context we use it. 

For example:   

Sweet: in general terms the word makes reference to people, food or things that are pleasant. Thus, it can specifically mean: 
charming, attractive: The baby is really sweet. 
sugary: That pudding is too sweet for me. 

Now, let's do some practice...go to page 59 there you'll find exercise 9a,b,c and 10a.
